analog or digital
It bugs me practically every time I develop a new roll, or see Kinfolk mag or find something inspiring in terms of photography. People can do wonders with their cameras, that is one thing I am sure of. Second, with a talent, it seriously doesn't matter whether you pick analog or digital. A good idea is still a good idea. Analog stole my heart with its light depiction. It was something I have never seen before, while regulars (B or even C-class digital devices) lacked depth that I so strongly desired. I still believe analog is a great choice (even though it is seriously a pricey hobby and supposedly it will get more and more expensive with time), but I often wonder where my future lies with photography. Maybe one day I will just switch to convenience of pluging a usb into my laptop to view my little snaps, then something will end but a new chapter of this blog will begin. Digital would be an investment for years to come, and perhaps a method of posting more regularly, not being depended on lightning conditions or not missing this perfect shot, because of taking it only once.
socialite or introvert
I am not the most social person you have met, nor I aspire to be one. Perhaps that's too bad. When you're alone, you can, colloquially speaking, fuck what everybody thinks. Be the master of your fate and the captain of your soul. After you've made a decision to share your life with somebody else, that choice no longer seems so obvious. Of course, I am not talking about a complete collisions of personalities, a party lover and the worst type of an introvert, that I shall not try to deal with. But I strongly believe that for some values in life, we should try our best not to be egocentric anymore. I am the worst kind of an egocentric, you know? But I have learnt some lessons by now, and I hope I am on a road that only goes up from now on. I don't feel this need of socializing, but that doesn't mean that because of it, I should act like less of a friend or less of a girlfriend.

  2. You can always use both analogue & digital methods of photography! For me, they serve different purposes. I prefer analogue for portraits and any and all pictures of people because it makes people look so beautiful, but I definitely prefer digital for everything else like landscapes and product photos just because of the convenience.

Because getting film developed is so expensive in Australia I've decided to only use analogue photography for photos of friends, family & myself and digital for concerts, day to day adventures and blog posts. They definitely both have their place in my world :)

  3. I love both analogue and digital but I agree that film handles light more beautifully :) I'm also a crazy introvert so I can definitely relate to your words!

  5. analogue/introvert - sometimes the choices are simply based on what makes you the most comfortable, I think. :) :) :) Love the light leak!

  6. Fajny blog, ciekawy post, szczególnie koncepcja rozdarcia.
Właściwe osoby będą wtedy w naszym życiu i to będzie czynić je wyjątkowym.
Trzymaj ten poziom i czekam na więcej :).

  7. I went from an introverted extroverted to an extroverted introvert over the last few years. After finding Stephen, I learnt so much and I realised that being loud and crazy isn't always the best thing for me. Sometimes a good tv show and a cup of hot chocolate is all I need.

I really want to shoot film but I'm terrified. Where do I begin?

  8. I always believe in thrashing things out, esp with people I care about, but along the way, I learnt that it is equally important sometimes to leave things unsaid.

p.s. Love how subtly the light leak blends with the blue ♥

  9. I keep meaning to shoot more film on my La Sardina but it barely happens! I always find it easier to grab my digital camera, and it's a faster turnover and cheaper of course. I guess we get set in our ways! I love the look of film though, your photos are always beautiful.

I'm definitely and introvert - I wouldn't say I'm shy (awkward maybe), but at a certain point being with people can exhaust me.

  12. I am so much an introvert. I like my alone time :) And I just recently developed my film that I took with my DIY camera - the Konstruktor - and it's given me some disappointments again. But I like playing around with the toy camera and shooting with film. I hope to get a film camera that is not toy one of these days. I like that you have to be patient and wait to see the film develop. It's like waiting to open a present :)

  13. Your blog really inspires and motivates me to keep trying with my film camera. Your photos tell a story, and their all different and unique. I had a difficult time with my Canon AE-1 at first (none of the photos developed in the first roll), and right now it's kind of collecting dust until I return to it.

  15. I somehow share the same sentiments with you, both about analogue/digital and introvert/extrovert. Analogue someone keeps my passion for photography alive and revitalized, whereas digital sometimes exhaust me – since I mainly use it just for clients/business.

I only two people with that kind of introversion – the type that one doesn't feel the need of socializing at all – you and my boyfriend. I, on the other hand, is a pretty random mox of both – intro and extro. Idek. Hahaha!

The photo accompanied to this post is spot on. Idk. But it feels so fitting with what you've just written. <3

  17. I understand your dilemmas! Like you, I very much like analog, but it's so expensive. You write very beautifully and I think you've got some great points. I just stumbled upon your blog, and I'm absolutely in love!

  18. I agree with you! The medium used should not define what your soul says! I love analogue because it has soul in it. The imperfections, the dust, the light, the chemicals within the film! It's real it's physical!

  19. 'Be the master of your fate and the captain of your soul.' - those are words to live by. At least you enjoy your own company and don't cosntantly crave socialization. I'm guilty of the latter. I hope you pick up on some lucidity soon, with your dilemma :)

  20. Well, it depends in what you want to do, both are amazing mediums; my dad uses and amazing Canon and I love his pictures, I'm hooked in analog because, like you said there's something in the depth that it's amazing. Never say never, try both, there's always something to enjoy <3

  21. I identify with so much that you say here :) I think, film all the way, your beautiful picture in the beginning says it all.

  22. i started with digital and then switched to analogue. I don't think i ever want to go back to digital photography (i still take photos with my phone though). it is indeed pricy hobby but those photos are worth every single cent.

That light leak in the photo is awesome; something that digital camera will never have. :)

  24. I recently went on a week long trip and took my digital camera. For me, I think it's the difference is in the process with digital and analog that leads to the end result. I tried digital during this trip but I'll always prefer analog. Also I WHOLLY agree that it is an expensive hobby.

I'm an introvert and worry if it's a bad thing to prefer being alone? I've accepted the fact that I do but I then I keep thinking - at this rate, I'll end up being forever alone? lol
